Top Three Dual Slider Phones

Terry Rode
Everyone seems to be riding the Blackberry train, wanting a PDA phone with a QWERTY keyboard is the norm these days. No one really takes the time to look at all of the possibilities. Dual slider phones, which are phones that slide up to a keypad, and off to the side to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard, are very underrated phones. There are many more dual slider phones and one would think there are, and here are the top three that are on the market.

With number 3, we start with the Pantech Matrix. The Matrix can be used only on the AT&T network. Pantech was the originator of the dual slider phones, with the first Pantech slider being the Pantech Duo. The Matrix is a typical dual slider phone, yet the QWERTY keyboard is rather hard to type on. The web browsing can be better on the Matrix, but is not bad for just minimal web usage. On the side of the phone, there is a microSD slot, which can handle up to a 16GB card for pictures, and music.

At number 2, is the brother/sister to the Matrix, the Pantech Matrix Duo. The Matrix Duo is also only available on the AT&T network. The visual differences on the Matrix Duo is clear. The Duo is a much nicer looking phone, and easier to hold while texting and web browsing. The camera is a 2 megapixel camera and has a 4x optical zoom on the, get ready for it, video capture mode! A new feature for the Pantech phones, the video capture mode will save to the microSD card, or, when connected to a computer via the USB cable, will upload right on to youtube.com or myspace.com, whichever is your social networking website of choice.

The number 1 Dual Slider phone is the Samsung Exclaim, which is available only on the Sprint network. The Samsung Exclaim comes in 3 colors, Blue, Raspberry and White/Silver. It has a 2 megapixel camera, which can do videos as well, and has a 4.5 inch LCD screen which makes the Exclaim much easier then the Pantech Matrix and Matrix Duo to surf the web and check your e-mails on.

The land of dual slider phones doesn't end here. It has only just begun and it is only a matter of time before everyone else jumps on the dual slider train and blows past the PDA phones of today, and possibly tomorrow as well.
