Top Three Economically Smart and Stomach Pleasing Restaurants in Kokomo, Indiana

Stomach Happy, Wallet Happier!

Who doesn't love to go out and eat a nice meal? (I know I do) Who doesn't love to save money? (I might enjoy saving money even more!) As my band awaits our upcoming U.S. tour in May, I remain uemployed, and hungry. It is important for my meals out to be cheap, but also to taste good. I know that if you live in Indiana (Kokomo, Indiana specifically) this article will be a big help to you, and to that grumbling belly of yours! On the menu today, Chef Mike Wilson is cooking up my top 3 economically smart and stomach pleasing restaurants in Kokomo, Indiana.

THE HACIENDA: 2006 S Plate St. Kokomo, Indiana
(765) 452-8231‎http://www.haciendafiesta.com/
Hours of Operation: Noon til 10:00 P.M.

Kokomo, Indiana is a dying city. Chrysler has hit rock bottom. Delphi is going down. However, the Hacienda (or the Haus as we call it) is growing stronger stronger each day. I live in house of 8 people. Six of our group are vegans, two of our group are vegetarians. We survive almost entirely off the sides menu at the Hacienda, and the greasy, salty chips their some-what shoty servers provide.
I'm not much of a drinker, but my friend, ( I won't mention his real name) "Hazard Jackson" loves the three dollar Blue Agave Margaritas. To be honest, I think the main reason we go to the Hacienda is to get totally stuffed for under five bucks. If you order some of their regular menu items (these items are an Americanized version of Mexican food, generally priced between five and eight dollars) you'll have a tasty and good time, but where It's at if your thrifty is the 1.50/2.00 sides. I could go on about
"The Haus" for hours, but for a more specific description, please visit their above-mentioned website.

CiCi's Pizza 2038 S Reed Rd. Kokomo, Indiana
(765) 457-9000 http://www.cicispizza.com/
Hours of Operation 11:00 A.M. til 10:00 P.M.

Recently, CiCi's has changed their price from $5.00 per buffet to $4.00 per buffet. Going to be 100% honest here, this is the reason I visit this place, when I am sick of "the haus." Good lord, these people are so awesome on customer service also! They'll make ANYTHING you ask, and since six out of eight of our roommates are vegan, this is very important. Slide on over to the pizza buffet and ask one of their cooks to make you a specialty pie. Get your cone and go back to your seat. About 17 minutes later, they'll bring you a whole pizza! I really just can't get over how much food and how much service you get for only four dollars. Pizza, Pasta, Salad, Garlic Bread, Brownies, Apple Pie. Gosh darned, I might just have to go over there now and get myself a heaping plate-full!

The Olive Garden 4015 S Lafountain St. Kokomo, Indiana
(765) 455-2038 www.olivegarden.com
Hours of Operation Noon til 11:00 P.M.

Three words describe my love for the Olive Garden and they go as follows: Soup, Salad, and Bread sticks. Many others will love the Olive Garden for the expansive wine collection, their slightly-authentic Italian cuisine, or possibly even their Italian coffee and express, but nothing makes my stomach happier than free bread sticks. This restaurant is last in line out of the top three economical and stomach friendly joints, mainly because of the economical aspect. Our friends order the soup, salad, and bread sticks, and right now they are charging 7.95 per person for this deal. Now listen, the quality of the food, (and the amount) is well worth the ticket price, however, recently I have been so poor that I just don't always have eight dollars to spend on a meal. I think this restaurant is a great choice though, and this is the reason it has been included in the top three.

Well, there you have it! I hope I have given you some great ideas, and primed your stomach for some heavy plate-hitting. In this day and age, cheap and delicious food is what we NEED! I wish I could stay longer, but writing this article has made my pocket book itch, and my stomach ROAR!
