Top Three First Date Restaurants in Blacksburg, Virginia
Improve Your Chances with a Great First Date Location
Zeppoli's
Even if you're a Blacksburg native, you might not know that this cozy Italian restaurant exists. It's located away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, tucked away in a little plaza at 810 University City Boulevard. The seclusion makes Zeppoli's a great restaurant to take someone on a first date, but don't let the hidden nature make you think that it's not a popular destination. In fact, the place sometimes gets packed, and you might want to consider making a reservation. Once there, treat your date to the excellent fried calamari, delicious home-made pasta, and a nice bottle of wine from Zeppoli's selection of 500-600 labels. The restaurant also holds wine tastings on every other Wednesday, which can make a fun idea for a first date. Zeppoli's is open until 10 p.m. every day of the week.
The Cellar
Nothing quite beats The Cellar, a classy pizza and beer joint in Blacksburg that also serves subs and a smattering of Greek food, for a first date destination. To get there, take College Avenue to where it hits North Main Street. The atmosphere is relaxed, and a little more refined than some of the other restaurant-bars in the area. Take your date upstairs if you're looking for something snug and welcoming, and head to the signature basement area if you want more of a pub-type vibe. The bar area is open until 2 a.m. seven days a week, so feel free to stay as late as you want if the date goes well. The Cellar has an impressive selection of beers, with a special $1.00 "Luck of the Draw" option for adventurous types.
Boudreaux's
If you want to impress your first date with your restaurant choice, Boudreaux's in Blacksburg is a good choice. This Cajun-style restaurant is located at 205 North Main Street, right in the center of downtown. At Boudreaux's, you and your date can sample delicacies such as "Gator Bites" (made with real alligator, of course), "Oyster Rockefeller," and "Chesapeake Bay Crab Cakes." If you're enjoying yourselves, don't miss out on sharing a "Chocolate Bomb" for dessert. There's also a good selection of Belgium beers, including the ineffable "La Fin Du Monde," also known as "The End of the World." The restaurant area is open until at least 10 p.m. Or, if you're interested in having your first date during the day, check out brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.
