Top Three Kid-friendly Hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada

Leanne Bloms
Las Vegas has changed in the last ten years as it is trying to become a lot more family friendly. Las Vegas does whatever it can to attract more visitors. Now, more than ever, has it truly become a place where the whole family can go to have a lot of fun. It's not just gambling anymore. No matter what age you are at, you can have a great time in Vegas. Here are my top recommendations for hotels in Las Vegas that are kid - friendly.

One of the biggest, most reasonable priced hotel to stay at with the whole family would be The Excalibur Hotel and Casino. This is the giant midevil theme castle located on the south end of the Las Vegas strip. It is one of the cheapest hotels around on the strip, and it really truly caters to families. It has a lot of hotel rooms so at some times it can seem kind of busy. The hotel rooms are really nice and are large, but there is not a lot of amenities. It is your typical hotel room.

Located in The Excalibur is a giant arcade. This is a great place to take your older children to play while you go upstairs and hit the casino floor. There is a variety of arcade games to choose from as well as a lot of carnival style games where they can compete with others. It is really easy to earn prizes and gifts as well for take home souvenirs. I have played several times at the arcade in Excalibur and I can personally tell you that it is blast for children of all ages because of the variety of games to play.

Another great place to stay with the whole family is New York, New York. While the hotel prices are a little more expensive, the rooms are a little nicer. The hotel and casino is larger and more spread out, so it won't seem so crammed like The Excalibur. The arcade at New York New York is even larger than The Excalibur's. They have a roller coaster on the top of the hotel that you can buy single passes, or even an all day pass to ride. A great way for older kids to pass the time away and play while the adults play themselves.

The only reason why I would say that I prefer New York, New York is because there is so many different food options available. The Excalibur has a food court, a dinner show, and only a couple of different restaurants available. New York has fast food dining, sports bar themed dining, and well as a buffet and fine dining. With a family, there is always going to be picky eaters so this will give you more options to please everyone.

Another hotel option located on the north end of the Las Vegas Strip would be Circus Circus. One of the older hotels still left on the strip and just like The Excalibur, one of the more affordable. I have not personally stayed at Circus Circus, so I do not know what the rooms are like, this is definitely a kid friendly hotel. Located inside Circus Circus is Adventure Dome. Adventure Dome is an enclosed amusement park to keep your children at play.

These are my top suggestions for hotels that are kid-friendly in Las Vegas. While most hotels have a little something for the family, these 3 hotels are the places that children are most likely going to hang out at. Keep in mind that you are in Las Vegas, the city of gambling, so do not leave your children unsupervised if they are not old enough and responsible enough. Check with hotel and casino employees on the rules to leave your children unattended, and set up a meeting time with them. Enjoy your family vacation to Las Vegas, a great place for the whole family!
