Top Three Nintendo Wii Games: Wii Fit, Wii Sports and DJ Hero

Rochelle Connery
You just bought the glorious Nintendo Wii game console, but you have no idea what to do with it. No worries, with your new Nintendo Wii, you can play interactive music, fitness and sports games to get the most mileage out of your game console. Here's my three favorite Nintendo Wii games I'm sure you'll enjoy playing on your new Wii.

Wii Sports

Wii Sports automatically comes with most Wii consoles. Unfortunately, you only get one remote with your Wii, so you'll have to play by yourself or against the Wii unless you want to invest in additional remotes.

Wii Sports offers you the opportunity to play bowling, baseball, golf, boxing and tennis. In each category you can select the training option before diving right into the games. I highly recommend doing this with the golf one especially, as swinging a club with the Wii remote really doesn't do the same justice. It takes some getting used to!

Bowling is the most relaxing (and probably the most simple) activity on Wii Sports. Boxing is by far the most labor intensive, as it employs both your arms with the nunchuck add-on remote included with your Wii console.

Wii Fit

If you don't own fitness equipment, all you need to do is buy the Wii Fit. Measure your BMI each day and set regular goals for yourself with the Wii Trainer. Choose between training with a female or male physical fitness expert on the Wii, and have your pick of training exercises, including strength training, yoga, aerobics and balance exercises.

Before you get started with the exercises, the Wii will test your balance and coordination. If you're not used to working on a Wii fitness board yet, you might fail in the balance category. Though you can't really retake the tests to erase a bad score, you can improve upon each test by working on the Wii every day.

The best part about the Wii Fit is that you can simulate sports activities. For instance, many of the balance exercises are performed in the atmosphere of skiing and soccer. Aerobics training takes you through basic and free running exercises through a sunny mountainous region. During some of the exercises, you can plug your headphones into an iPod and put your body on autopilot while you exercise with the Wii.

DJ Hero

Much like Guitar Hero, DJ Hero packs musical sets of songs by Blondie, Jay-Z, Eminem, Tears for Fears, Rihanna, and more into mixed mashups at night clubs and dance venues. I highly advise completing at least the basic training to ensure you get the maximum points out of your DJ Hero experience. The more points you earn, the more venues you can play at and the more songs you're can unlock to DJ with.

You might want to make some selection changes with the DJ dudes. Some of them are fairly unattractive, and you might see a little more than you want to while the camera zooms in and out while they bounce around their equipment.

There's endless possibilities you can experience with your Nintendo Wii. When you get a little bored, simply switch to a different routine. And with the price of the Wii being less than ever now, there's no better time to get your own!
