Top Three Places to Take a First Date in Roswell, Georgia

How to Save Money on the Honey on the First Date

Kirby Rooks
First dates are fun because it's a grab bag situation. You want to meet new people but not spend a lot of money until you get to know them. That's why I developed the top three places to take a date in Roswell, Georgia that won't break the bank.

The Curbside Café

Don't let the name fool you this is a nice restaurant with good food. It's run by a family and they serve excellent dishes like Baked Chicken, Meatloaf, Blackened Grouper, and more. The prices are so good you will take her here when you propose. Its nice in the spring or summer because they have outside dining that's very romantic. Try the Coconut Cake with Ice Cream for Two it's the best I have ever had.

This restaurant is different in that you get a menu when you walk in, then order your food and help yourself to the drinks, then find a table or booth. Its cuts down on the wait for food and drinks and gives you something to discuss on that first date. A couple can eat well for $25 and if you want to talk some more over coffee go next door to Starbuck's.

I go every couple weeks because I like the food and the owner Harvey is a hoot.

The Picture Show

This is a fantastic place to take a first date because it cost $1.25 per person. They play first run movies that have not been released on video yet. With two drinks and bottomless popcorn you are in and out for $15. The Picture Show is located at the corner of Roswell Rd. and East Cobb Rd in the shopping center.

There is a lot to do in this area if that first date is a keeper. You might want to splurge on coffee at Starbucks at the corner of Johnson Ferry Rd. and Papermill Rd. Better yet go across the street to The Avenues, an upscale outside mall, to sip a cup of joe at Borders while enjoying the books.

I go on Tuesdays because it cost $.75 on this night only.

The Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee Shop

Last but not least is The Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee Shop on Atlanta Street in Roswell. Very cozy and you can get a desert with a pot of coffee for $10-$12. A great price of which the owners donate a percentage of their profits to a Rwandan coffee plantation in the form of bicycles. The Rwandans bring the coffee down from the mountains on rickety home made wooden bicycles, which you can see, out front as you enter the establishment. Bicycles that are provided enable the Rwandans to bring more beans down quicker and make more money for their families.

The Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee Shop is a great place with excellent service not to mention a great coffee house as well. I go there once a week and highly recommend this establishment.

There you have the three places to go on a first date in Roswell, Georgia. I hope they help you find true love in your dating escapades.
