The first place to take that special someone on a first date is Mt Hood Railroad. This is located at 110 Cascade Avenue Hood River, Oregon 97031. Their phone number to make reservations is 1-800-872-4661.
This is an amazing thing to do with that special someone. During the year they offer several choices from either a Murder Mystery ride with a who done it theme and dinner as well as entertainment. This will cost you around 80.00 dollars a piece but quite the entertainment with a four course meal aboard the train.
Another option for the train rides are The Polar Express which can run you around 25.00 dollars a piece. This option allows you to have hot chocolate and cookies while taking in the beautiful scenery. So whether you are looking for brunch or dinner rides or a Western theme trip call ahead and make reservations because seats do fill up quickly.
The cars are air conditioned in the summer months and heated for the winter months. They have an amazing staff on board to assist you as well as restrooms. The parking fee will cost you $2.50 but seats for brunch and dinner without the specialty shows can run you around 25.00 a piece.
These rides can last from 2 to 4 hours depending on which one you select. Make sure you let them know it's a first time date so you can be seated together. The Western Train Robbery trip was really fun and only cost 33.00 dollars a piece with our meals. Not bad for a night out and dinner and a show!
The second place I would like to recommend to you for that special first time date is The Sixth Street Bistro and Loft in Hood River, Oregon. They are located at 509 Cascade Avenue Hood River Oregon, 97031. Their phone number is 541-386-5737 and this is at the corner of 6th Street.
This establishment is opened seven days a week and their operating hours are Sunday through Thursday 11:30am till 9:30 pm. Then on Friday and Saturday's the hours are 11:30am till 10:00 pm. Their happy hour is daily from 5pm till 6pm at the bar.
This restaurant has allot of class and you can tell that by first walking through the doors. It stays busy which is another good sign you have picked a winner. I recommend you trying the Damn Good Burger or the Berry Cobbler.
This establishment also has a large selection of wines to choose from as well as mixed drinks. Might I recommend their Margarita's because they make them the best that I've ever tasted. For those that enjoy a cold beer either from a bottle or tap they have got you covered.
This restaurant has some of the best fish and chips we've ever tasted as well. You will impress your date with this laid back location with it's amazing ambiance and wine you are sure to steal their heart. You can find out more about them at their web site at www.sixstreetbistro.com.
The third location I would like to suggest to you for that first date is The Full Sail Brewing Company. They are located at 506 Columbia Street in Hood River, Oregon, 97031. Their operating hours are daily from 11:30am till 9:00 pm. Their phone number is 541-386-2247. They also can be found on their web site at www.fullsailbrewing.com.
This is an amazing place to go for lunch or dinner with that first time date. You can take a tour for free of the brewery and then have lunch or dinner and a cold glass of your favorite drink. They do offer an array of choices from dark beers to lighter choices.
Might I suggest you try one of my favorite appetizers of Artichoke dip made with Tillamook cheeses and spinach and served with toasted baguette. This will serve two and cost 9.00 dollars. Their salads and sandwiches will run you around 7 dollars to 10 dollars a plate but comes with either fries or soups or salads.
This establishment has a incredible view as well as friendly staff. You can try one of their taps in the tasting room. What better way to share in unique conversation than a beer taste or wine selection. stop by for that first date and see what keeps people coming back for more year after year!
