Designer jeans -- Designer jeans are a good money maker on eBay. Snatch up brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Old Navy, Ralph Lauren, Nautica and others. The more expensive the jeans are at regular retail, the better chance you have to resell the item at a good profit. Steer clear of generic brands or those you can find at mass market stores if you want to maximize your sales potential.
Books -- Books are a perennial thrift store find and provided you are able to find old, vintage, first or second edition books, there is potential to buy low and sell high on eBay. Classics that you had to read in high school are good choices, as are vintage children's books if you can find them. If it is a signed copy, it may be worth picking up on the cheap and doing a little research before listing.
Vintage Toys, particularly Fisher Price's Little People -- Vintage toys are a big seller because middle-aged buyers want the toys they no longer have back. In addition, in the 90s, Fisher Price updated their Little People to be less of a choking hazard. Vintage Little people toys - even sold individually - can bring in a tidy sum. Picking up vintage toys piece meal and then grouping them into a larger lot may be attractive to buyers. Buyers often look for figures to be with larger items, such as houses. Overall, vintage Fisher Price toys in general sell well on eBay.
Brand name handbags -- If you spot a brand name handbag at the thrift store, snap it up and list it on eBay. Some handbag brands to keep an eye out for include Gucci, Prada and Louis Vuitton. A great place to pick these up are thrift stores near wealthier suburbs.
Maternity clothes -- Maternity clothes are in demand. Since women are pregnant for just a short time, it is desirable not to spend a lot of money on clothing that is only going to be worn for just a few months. Dressy clothes suitable for a work environment should sell well. Considering, too, the short time that women wear such clothing, the wear on them should be minimal. Picking up fashionable, gently used maternity clothes at a thrift store to list on eBay is an easy way to turn your thrift store find into an eBay goldmine.

Post a Commentyes I have noticed price inflation at thrift stores, especially for merchandise that they know is trendy or wanted. I think this is a misuse of thrift stores. As stated above, often times they get this merchandise for free and should not be marking up so unfairly. There are many times I see a shirt for sale for as much as I could purchase a new one at a Ross store or other discount retailer.. stop the greed. This stuff is mostly used..... used... not new.
This is good to know.
I never would have thought of that! Thanks.
