Since the global economic crisis arrived in town last year, we can't help considering how to save money effectively in our monthly budget in order to maintain a quality life. In fact, there are some top tips to help us:

1 - Try to make a regular deposit weekly or monthly from your checking account to your savings account.

Most banks provide online services. You don't have to spend time driving or pay gasoline for going to a bank. You just have to stay home and click your mouse. Then you can easily manage your monthly budget on the internet.

If you have the habit of using credit card and debit card to pay your bills, you can even use online services to categorize your monthly expenses and manage your monthly budget effortlessly.

2 - Try not to buy unnecessary things.

For example, if you buy a discounted monthly gym card, you may think having a good deal. In fact, you may do some outdoor exercises without paying any money, such as jogging and riding bicycle. Do not make rash purchases. Always think twice before you take out your purse.

If unexpected expenses deviate you from your set budget from time to time, you should avoid unnecessary costs rather than reducing your savings. Unless a vital need, your savings should be a top priority in your monthly budget.

Today, many of us have a car. Saving fuel may help, but without a car is even more radical. At least try not to have several cars to maintain. Limit the miles and negotiate with your insurance provider before a purchase.

For large projects such as buying a home or financing studies of children, opening a separate account can be an ideal solution. The money will be accumulated obviously and you can be more immune to the temptation of spending money.

3 - If some money comes unexpectedly, save all of them and continue to contribute your regular monthly saving. You will simply advance your saving goals. When you pay off the loan for a car or a mortgage, you can earn the money you would pay to the bank.

4 - Use a bank or jar for your coins. The small changes may seem insignificant but when they are accumulated over long time, such as six months, it can help you save money. Some banks offer machines to count coins. When you exchange your coins into paper money, ask your bank to deposit the exchanged money into your saving account directly.

5 - Do not save for the sole purpose of spending. You should also decide how much you want to put aside from your monthly salary for emergencies, and refill your pool every time after you use it.
