With so many shows on TV for toddlers to watch how do you know which one to put on. Which ones are going to be educational and which ones are going to be just for fun. I will give you a list of my son's favorite TV shows that are both fun and educational.

The Wiggles - Jeff, Murray, Anthony, and Greg (now Sam) are the four main characters. They sing and dance and teach colors, numbers, etc... My son would watch this show for hours and has! And let us not forget the Little Wiggles. My son loves to listen to them sing and dance.

Doodle bops - We just discovered this show. The three main characters are Deedee, Rooney, and Moe Doodle. They also sing and dance. They teach social morals through music. They are a "rock" band. Each episode they record a music and dance video. Then each episode ends with them performing at a music concert.

Barney - This is an oldie but goodie. It's hard to find Barney anymore because it is an older show from years back. My son took a liking to it because of the music and colors. Barney is a dinosaur that comes to life using your imagination.

Cars - This is the movie Cars from Pixar. This one had great action for your child to follow. It is an animated movie about cars and racing. It also teaches a moral in the story. The two main characters are Lightening McQueen and Sally.

Jack's Big Movie Show - This is on Cablevision Noggin Channel 123. This shows teaches through music and singing too. The three main characters are puppets. Their names are Jack and Mary and Jack's dog Mel. They play musical instruments and they sing in Jack's backyard clubhouse. They also have guest singers on the show too.

Sesame Street - On channel 13 is also an old time favorite. My son hasn't started watching this show yet but his friends love it. I remember watching it as a child and loving it too.

Backyardigans - My son hasn't started watching this show yet but his friends do. The main characters are Pablo the penguin, Tyrone the Moose and Uniqua.

Dora the Explorer - I have heard great things about this show too. The few times we have watched it they taught learning concepts through skits.

Most of these shows are on TV but you can also buy the DVD's if you want them for your car. We have a ton of Wiggles DVD's for the car. They work wonders for long car rides.
