Education is a hot topic across the nation right now. As a result, the amount of information being disseminated can be mind-boggling.

Twitter, with its 140 character limit, gives you just enough information to arouse your interest on a great story or let you know it's an issue you'd probably rather pass on.

Here are my Top Ten education-related Twitter accounts to keep you up-to-date on the latest news and events in the world of education. They were chosen primarily for their universal informational appeal to parents, homeschooling parents, and professional educators.

@nyteducation - From the editors of the quarterly education section of the New York Times. Tweets link to information on a wide variety of education related topics, from colleges and universities to financial aid and student loans. Great stuff for parents and teachers alike.
