Top Valentine's Day or Anti-Valentine's Day Songs

J. Darling
Valentine's Day is the one holiday every year where we're bombarded with all things red and pink, chocolate hearts, cupids, sappy commercials advertising overpriced jewelry, and tacky stuffed animals. As is the case with most holidays, people like to put together mix cd's of their favorite music to commemorate the occasion. Valentine's Day music suggestions could stem from several directions: from romantic tunes about happy endings to songs about unrequited love to music about relationships gone bad. So, some of the songs on this list would even be appropriate for an Anti-Valentine's Day soundtrack. Instead of my commentary on each song, I'm going to link to a Youtube video where you can listen to each song and feel the love. (Or the lack of it, in some cases.) Happy V-Day, people!

Before you say, "Hey! You forgot ____!", I know there are many artists who have songs that appear on nearly every other Top Love Songs list, like Etta James, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, and Stevie Wonder. I wanted to make a list of love songs that have affected me or were relevant to me at some point in my life, which is why some of the popular songs aren't included.
