Word of mouth and email forwards have made the popularity of these viral videos featuring President Barack Obama spread like wildfire. Boasting millions of hits, downloads and ratings, these videos created havoc in cyberspace. While some were humorous, some started a revolution. These top viral videos of President Obama attracted publicity, attention and gave us something to chuckle.

Obama's Top Viral Video: I've got a Crush on Obama

Barely Political calls itself "the leading political satire site on the web," launched the "I've got a Crush on Obama" on YouTube in 2007, featuring a young model Amber Lee Ettinger. The viral video showed the twenty-something model fantasizing about the then Presidential candidate, Barack Obama. Conceptualized by the advertising guru Ben Relles, the video made it to YouTube and garnered over 50 million views in the first year. Although the video raised agonizing comments from the President, its popularity reached far and wide. The viral video turned into a series and gave way to other subsequent videos.

Obama's Top Viral Video: Yes We Can

Who isn't familiar with the slogan that rocked the Nation and started a revolution? "Yes We Can" was an unforgettable part of Obama's Presidential campaign speech. Inspired by the slogan, Black Eyed Peas, the popular American hip-hop group, released a song on February 2, 2008. ABC News reported on February 2, 2008, "Celebrity-filled music videos have been used to support many social movements... But rarely have celebrities and musicians banded together to create new music in the heat of a presidential campaign." An attempt by Black Eyed Peas' frontman, songwriter and producer known as will.i.am, along with director and filmmaker Jesse Dylan, the video premiered on ABCNewsNowon's "What's the Buzz" on Friday.

Released on Dipdive.com and YouTube in February 2008, the viral video buzzed, attracted viewership and the collage-styled, black and white video evoked positive emotions of change. The viral video was honored with an Emmy "New Approaches in Daytime Entertainment" category.

Embracing change and technology, President-Elect decided to make his first YouTube address. From radio and television, the President-Elect took the White House ritual to a new level and created an internet phenomena. For the first time, the address to the Nation wasn't just for the radio or television, but was turned into a YouTube
video, which premiered on November 15th2008 and was posted on Change.gov. In fact, the video broadcast generated a feeling of euphoria and transparency; today Change.gov has its exclusive channel on YouTube.
