The newest wedding trends for 2011 put a new spin on sophistication. While vintage is still really "in", this year's trends revive elegance.

Trends in Wedding Dresses

Ball gown-style wedding dresses are all the rage in 2011. Fairytale inspired, this year's wedding dresses vary from whimsical grace to classic Cinderella. Embellished or plain, ball gown-styled wedding dresses can be full length layered skirts to mermaid skirts. Remember the shorter tea length styles are out the door. So, for those who have always wanted the princess wedding, this is the year for you.

Trends in Wedding Décor and Accessories

Traditional is back. Monograms and calligraphy; beading and lace. Simple elegance is the name of the game for all wedding décor in 2011. Wedding décor and accessories, whether it's invitations, table linens, wedding favors or your cake; are all about embellishments. Fabrics should be textured, beaded, or embroidered. Invitations are taking on an air of refinement with calligraphy and more traditional designs. Silly themed weddings are out.

Trends in Wedding Colors

We have already covered the new trends in wedding color for 2011. However, grey is the new black. All shades of grey, from charcoal to oyster, are making their way down the aisle for accent colors or for the groom. Running a close second is navy blue and darker blues.

Wedding venues in 2011 are taking things back outside. The outdoor wedding has made a dramatic comeback this season. With the natural beauty of the outdoors, brides this year will have more room for personalization and can save money doing it. Also big in 2011 wedding venues is the double duty venue. Whether indoors or out, wedding venues that double as the ceremony and reception area are an up-and- coming trend in 2011.

Gone are the days of buffets and sit down dinners. 2011's trends in wedding food take a walk on the elegantly casual. When planning your wedding food, think lounge styled seating and pass through hors d' oeuvres. Wedding food should be cocktail party elegant but hearty enough to be filling. Save time and money on this wedding trend of 2011. Another wedding food trend, forgo the cake and have a dessert bar. Don't forget the signature cocktails as well.

Trends in Wedding Receptions

Gone are the short wedding receptions. More weddings are being planned in the afternoon to make way for the late night party reception. Newlyweds and their guests will be partying into the night with dancing, cocktails and lots of fun.Think of it as a classy night out. Also, LED light displays and photo booths are gaining popularity for wedding receptions.
