France is known to have some of the top vineyards in Europe, so you'll definitely want to know which wines your taste buds can't afford to miss.

Here is a list of the top wines that can be found in Corsica, France:

Patrimonio - Patrimonio comes from the vineyards in the North part of the island in Saint Florent Gulf. This wine is made from red nieleccio grapes and white vermentino grapes. Patrimonio is a full bodied red wine, with a light and fruity dry rose taste. Most bottles of this wine are aged 3 to 7 years before sold. The aroma given off by this one when opened is vanilla, black fruits, white flowers and red fruits. You can match this win well with lamb, chicken, game, white fish, salad, and cheeses such as, brocciu and niolo. Patrimonio can be purchased for around $20.00 per bottle.

Ajaccio - This wine comes from the vineyards in the hills around Ajaccio City. The only grape used in this wine is a red grape, sciacarello. Ajaccio is a red wine and is best to be aged 3 to 5 years before opened. You will smell a variety of aromas including pepper and candied fruits. Ajaccio goes best with Lamb dishes and goat cheese. For added flavor to the wine, peaches can be added. You can purchase a bottle of Ajaccio for $20.00 -$25.00.

Alsace - While this wine doesn't come from Corsica, it is easily found on the Island due to the vineyards being just Northeast of France against the Rhine River. There are many different types of grapes in this wine such as Riesling, pinot blanc, gewurtztraminer, tokay pinot gris, and sylvaner. Alasace is known to be a refreshing dry and sweet white wine. It goes best with foods that have an onion ingredient. For a newer bottle, you could purchase one for as low as $18.00, but for a well aged bottle of 1982 Alsace, you could end up paying up to $398.00.

Anjou - This wine was grown in the vineyards at Beaulieu sur Layon. There a few different grapes that makes up this wine, including Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon, and Chardonnay for the white grapes. This wine is a dry white wine and gives off the aroma of white flowers, apricot and crystallized fruit. Anjou goes best with fish and chabichou du Poitou (cheese). You can purchase a bottle of Anjou for around $18.00.Pouilly Fuisse - This wine is from the Easter part of the Loire Valley which is east of Bourges. You'll taste a combination of Sauvignon and Chasselas grapes which makes up a thick and dry white wine. Pouilly Fuisse gives off an aroma of acacia, and smokiness. You can match this wine best with salmon, chicken, or veal. Pouilly Fuise can be purchased for around $22.00.
