A Short History of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Academy Award of Merit, known as "The Oscar"

No one knows what to expect in the 2009 Oscar awards show, from host Hugh Jackman or from a revamped Oscar show filled with secrecy and mystery presenters. The actual winners are a bit easier to predict, with a few tight races nonetheless.
