I was in Singapore on that fateful morning of Sept 11 in my brick and mortar store closing up the day. It was late evening in Asia. I was due to fly back to US a week later, this is my story....

Sept. 11, 2001. The date that still makes most of us cringe in horror and disbelief. I remember the day as if it were yesterday.

As a Washington, D.C. area resident, how did I react to the events on Sept. 11, 2001.

"We're playing like we're expecting to get beat, and we shouldn't be playing that way," St. Louis left-hander John Tudor told the media. "It's us that has the lead. We're pressing a little right now."

Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001. I actually had to look it up to see what day it had fallen on.

I live far from New York, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania so the immediate impact of how much this changed the world for me was not that day. In fact, I don't really remember felling scared until a few days later when airplanes returned to the sky.

Sept. 11th and the 10 years that have followed has changed and affected my life in many ways. I was not there that day, but the arms of conflict from the nuclei of the towers, would tear apart my family years later.

Today I’m setting in my home far from New York but 10 years ago today it was very different for myself, my husband and my 15-month-old daughter. I was lucky -- no cuts , bruises, or lost of loved ones; it was just dust and emotional damage and images that will forever haunt me.

September 11th, remembering and how I have changed.

I woke up that morning in the greatest country in the world at age 17 and ignorant to world politics like most teenagers living in the country.

When 9/11 happened, I had just come back from a delivery in New York City; in my former job, I was a truck driver for 27 years. This was the same day my future wife was to meet with my minister before our wedding.

Lost innocence, hope renewed

I did not lose anyone on 9/11 nor did I know anyone who lost a loved one that day. But my birthday is on September 11th and I was horrified to wake up at my home in California to the news on the TV.

What did the terrorist attacks do to us? I’ve heard many comments on it. Some claim we are a nation of victims. That’s not what it has done for me.
