This paper was written for my Applied Managerial Finance class. A fictious company, Superior Living is used and the topics for discussion is the NPV, MIRR, and the IRR.

In capital budgeting, the net present value (NPV) method s used to determine the profitability of a project taking into account the cash flows (both inflows and outflows) after the payback period.

There are pros and cons of the three capital budgeting techniques - payback, net present value (NPV), and internal rate of return (IRR). This information can be used to help decide whether to accept or reject a project.

This paper describes a company through investments and real financial assets.

Because projects can vary in size the capital expenditures can impact Superior Livings financial performance of the firm, when looking at the project the most important thing that a firm is interested in is capital budgeting.

Companies make project selection decisions knowing that success and failure of a project like any aspect in finance are separated by a narrow margin. Superior chooses projects that are minimal risk and the best potential return to shareholders.

After meeting with the VP of Accounting I was left confused, in order for me to have a better understanding of the project I called a financial analysis to help me better understand the valuation methodologies that companies use.

This piece provides discussion and comparison among the four main methods or techniques applied in evaluation of capital budgeting or investment decisions within the organization.
