After successfully producing the blockbuster Lord of the Rings films, Peter Jackson is having an awfully hard time making The Hobbit.

Yes, the Hobbit will finally be made into a live-action film (two movies, actually), directed by Peter Jackson, the same directing genius who brought us the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Following on from his success filming the trilogy Lord Of The Rings, Peter Jackson is due to begin filming the prequel, The Hobbit and has announced that Martin Freeman (The Office) will play the lead role of Bilbo Baggins.

Peter Jackson will be the director of "The Hobbit" now, returning the "Lord of the Rings" director to Middle Earth.

Considered one of the finest directors of this age in filmmaking, ranking up there with Spielberg, Cameron, and Raimi, Jackson's beginings are both humble and scary. Like Raimi, Jackson started out with some bad film cult classics.
