Tops Reason Why You Can't Activate Windows 7 Aero

There are many people who become frustrated when they cannot enable Windows 7 Aero on their PC. For many people, this is the sole reason why they wanted to use Windows 7 in the first place. Fortunately, most of the reasons why people can't enable Windows 7 Aero have pretty simple solutions.

One of the most common reasons that people can't enable Windows 7 Aero is because they don't have the right driver for their video card. Many people don't realize this because Windows 7 usually installs a standard VGA graphics adapter that prevents you from receiving the error that tells you that the PC needs the right graphics adapter for Windows 7. The easiest way to do this is the use the driver that your manufacturer has provided. Even if your manufacturer doesn't provide video drivers for Windows 7 you can almost always get away with using Windows Vista drivers or sometimes Windows XP drivers.

Another reason that many people are unable to activate Windows 7 Aero is because they simply don't have enough RAM for the hardware check that the OS performs to see if Aero can be ran efficiently. You need at least 1GB to pass the check. After you pass the check, you can remove RAM to go as low as 512 MB of RAM and still have Windows 7 Aero active after you restart your PC.

When trying to activate Windows 7 Aero, the most frustrating reason that you can run into is finding out that your video card isn't capable. This can be most frustrating when you are using a laptop. This is because laptops have video cards that are soldiered on, and the ones that are not soldiered on do not have much of any option for upgrading. In this case, it will probably be impossible to have aero themes turned on. It would be easier to obtain a transparent aero theme in Windows XP using the Windows 7 transformation pack. Although, it is not the exact same thing the appearance of the transparency will be almost identical when using the True Transparency program. The only real difference is that they transparent blur will not be active on the start menu or the taskbar. Those two items will be completely transparent.
