Torestas Snack Crackers Product Review

Chen Salis
I am a brown bag lunch kind of girl. I try not to eat fast food unless it is my only option, and ordering lunch daily gets quite expensive. I am always looking out for different items to include in my lunch. As we all know the standard peanut butter and jelly and cheese cracker routine can get boring very fast. While shopping for groceries at my local grocery store I ran across a new cracker product from the Lance cracker company. I have always enjoyed Lance products and I am a fan of Mexican foods, so Torestas black bean and sour cream southwest crackers really appealed to me.

The crackers have a great texture. They are baked and made from stone ground corn. I found this to be a great change from your average cracker taste. It is flavorful, crunchy, and unique. I was intrigued by the experience of eating these crackers. I found it to be an enjoyable snack. The cracker is just the beginning. I could go on and on about how eating the cracker part reminded me of really crispy pita bread with a kick, or how I never knew stone ground corn crackers could be so yummy, but I won't.

The filling is zesty and spicy. It is a great flavor and in my opinion a huge improvement from your standard processed cheese filling that normally one finds nestled between the crackers. I loved the slight kick to the black bean filling. It is a taste that reminds me of hummus, or maybe even refried beans on some level. The sour cream flavor is a great addition also. All together these flavors make a great snack that is unique and convenient. A package contains 8 crackers, and the Lance Cracker assortment is often sold in boxes of 8 packs. I paid $2.30 for my 8 pack of Lance Torestas black bean and sour cream on southwest crackers. I think this is a good price for such a tasty product. As with all Lance products, they are guaranteed to be fresh. Each package contains 310 calories, it does also contain a lot of fat, a whopping 20 grams per serving, and it is high in sodium and carbs. This might not be the ideal snack for a person on a diet or who is trying to eat less fat, but it is a good snack for every now and then. I liked the unique flavor, I loved the texture and taste of the stone ground corn crackers and I will purchase these crackers again for an addition to a brown bag lunch or a snack when I am on the go. I would recommend Torestas black bean and sour cream southwest crackers to anyone who likes spicier foods, Mexican dishes or anyone who is looking for a change in their boring snack routine. I would recommend any snack cracker from the Lance line of snacks. You will know you are getting a good product at a fair price when you purchase the Lance brand.
