Torn But Not Broken

Meki g
sunshine brings her freedom
darkness was her fear
hiding in the shadows
approaching sounds, she'd hear

no shield could be found
the covers, just a temporary barrier
no screams, no tears
no pleads could ever help to carry her.

the monster comes near, slowing in the shadow
no holds of breath, feigns sleep or death
He breathes his spray of fire;
Oh, Jesus please hide me in the cleft.

days don't seem to pass
but, she's counted every one
"Mama, I know you heard my cries,
So why didn't you come!"

she tried to tell someone
of how the Monster made her cry
of how she was dying little by little
and just wanted to die

they said how dare you speak evil
of such an outstanding Man
He's got a wife and a whole family
workin' everyday, doin' the best he can.

besides, you dress too sexy
showin' all your stuff,
men will be men
when you strut enough

hey, I'm only nine
what stuff do I have to show?
if I knew I would had hid it
so no one could ever know.

now ten years later
her head held high
God brought deliverance
when She wanted to die.

He cleansed her
Blood washed whiter than snow
New body, new mind, forgiveness
Like the world could never know.

Real...painful.... tragic. A total disregard for the preciousness of childhood. Ther, indeed, IS evil in the world.

Oh! Meki....So many have been abused like this. I have been blessed in that I have never had to experience being abused. It breaks my heart to hear stories of children who are ravaged by relatives or even friends of the family. I have known women who have told me about their abuse. And, yes, Neki, God can cleanse all stains of abuse, neglect, or any thing that could happen if one will just turn to HIM. I like your telling of this. Love in Christ...Brenda

Thank God the 9-year-old had the courage to hold on because so many have become reclusive or committed suicide after having endured such horror. Thank God%2521

Great poem and it speaks volumes for so many young and old that felt they had no voice.

"Torn But Not Broken".... This is a very sad, to say the least, problem that is repeated entirely too often. This is really good insight.

This is a very deep poem. Very impressive! Need some like this for my class.
