Toronto Maple Leafs Get Blown Away

Last night's game, December 18th, involved the Toronto Maple Leafs facing the Boston Bruins at Boston. The Bruins taking the lead in the first period as it was 2-1 for the Bruins. 8 goals alone were then scored in the second period giving Boston a 6-5 lead, however almost blowing there hefty lead and allowing a comeback from the Leafs, 4 goals from the Bruins and 4 goals from the Leafs were scored in the second period alone. Going into the 3rd period, Boston leading 6-5 manage to pull 2 more goals in the 3rd to take the 8-5 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Vesa Toskala which allowed two goals in barely 5 shots was eventually pulled later in the game for Curtis Joseph. Joseph, not having much more luck then Toskala, had allowed 4 goals in the second period and in just 10 shots. Eventually, Toskala had been sent back into the game in the 3rd period, however, allowing another goal. Although, the Leafs weren't the only ones making goalie changes, The Bruins had also made their goaltender changes when they had taken out Tim Thomas for Manny Fernandez after the Bruins were leading 5-1 in the second allowing for an eager comeback from the Leafs and Thomas leaving after the score was 6-5 for the Bruins.

The goal scorers for the Toronto Maple Leafs were Kubina, Ponikarovsky, Jason Blake, Grabovski, and Nik Antropov. The goal scorers for the Boston Bruins were Marco Sterm, 3 goals from David Krejci, 2 goals from Philip Kessel and power play goals from Marc Savard and Michael Ryder.

It was a big win for the Boston Bruins as they almost allowed a comeback, however, they managed to pull off the win against the Toronto Maple Leafs and win 8-5.
