New York, New York!

When you think of New York you probably think about the towers that fell. You might think of Rockefeller. You might even think of bustling streets and the big apple. Now, when you think of New York, you might want to think of so much more to see while you are on vacation. We have some places that we think you have to see when you are at New York.

Fishers Landing, New York has a nice and interesting sight that you can view just as you pass by on I-81. Here you will find these statues of three crows. Many people find them sort of cool and almost life like. They aren't just your normal size, but a little bit bigger. You'll see what we mean if you drive by.

While this might not be the Grand Canyon it comes pretty close for the East. Since 1870 people have been coming to see this sight. It's a great beautiful site called Ausable Chasm. Go on down the trails and you will see how it twists and turns you so that you end up by the gushing waters. It's a real breath taking sight. Most people can spend hours there and never tire of the beauty.

Great Americans have lived through this time. They are honored now in New York and you can go to this Hall of Fame of Great Americans when you visit. Just go to New York University and see for yourself all the great Americans that have lived. You will be impressed to see who you find there. You will feel honored to be standing in a place that honors these men and women. I know I was when I went to see this. The last people to be entered into this hall of fame were in 1976, but people still come to see. People like Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson are honored here.

One of the last ones is probably a statue to some that you have never heard about. This statue is a column with a granite urn on top. It stands for those who had died due to being American POW's during the American Revolutionary war. They are called the Prison Ship Martyrs. This has stood since at least 1908 as the remains of those who died on that ship had been swept from the river as those who lived near it dug into the river or casted nets in there. They put them in one little hill and reminds everyone of those that died at the British hands when this nation wasn't even a nation yet.

History is alive in New York. Fun is even more well known than the rich history. Come see for yourself and tour the Big Apple.
