Tourist Destination: Alona Beach in Panglao, Bohol, Phillipines

Alona Beach is said to be an absolutely stunning setting which is located on the tiny island of a place called Panglao which is situated southwest of Bohol in the Philippines. The entire beach of Alona is just about 1 mile long. The island of Panglao is joined with Bohol by 2 bridges which is roughly about 164 feet long. One can locate the island of Bohol about 500 miles to the south of the city capital called Manila. It is only about 50 miles from the city known as Cebu. Very soon, much to the delight of visitors and tourists, an airport will be constructed on the island of Panglao. This project will begin sometime in 2008 and it is estimated that it will take approximately one year to complete. Bohol currently has a small airport which is located in Tagbilaran City.

When visiting the tropical paradise of Alona Beach, tourists can select from a variety of lovely resorts which range from native style cottages with fans to ones with air conditioning to even a number of them with beautiful verandas. Tourists can opt for accommodations such as a bungalow or visitors may choose something smaller such as a double room. Certain tourists visiting the beautiful beach of Alona may prefer bathrooms that are larger than normal. Bathrooms of this particular size will have two sinks, a shower (hot and cold), dressing table as well as a toilet. There are also separate lodgings for anyone who is traveling with a tour guide, babysitter or possibly even a driver. Restaurants will never be a problem in Alona Beach at all. Tourists can opt to eat in or they maybe decide to dine outside if they wish to take in the beautiful surroundings eat.

Anyone visiting Panglao will surely take note of the brilliantly clear water surrounding the gorgeous island. Those looking to snorkel in the stunning blue waters, will definitely want to take advantage here. If you are traveling light and did not bring the necessary equipment to snorkel, this is not a problem as they will have what you are looking for on the island. There are amazing diving spots that you might want to check out when visiting which include the Balicasag Islands as well as the Pamilacan Islands. Bohol is quite a popular tourist destination and just last year, close to half a million tourists visited this beautiful paradise.
