She was five or six months pregnant and for reasons we aren't sure of she was abducted and killed yesterday while jogging. She was killed an hour after she was taken.
It seems that Sara was jogging to her friends' yacht which was at the marina in eastern Puerto Rico. After she was abducted Sara managed to call a marina employee on her cell phone from the trunk of the car. Unfortunately she could only tell the employee that she had been taken and was in the trunk of a car. The marina employee then called 911.
Eliezer Márquez Navedo has come forward and confessed to killing Sara in the town of Cieba. Navedo is in a detention center and will be given a trial.
Márquez confessed to the Homicide Division of the Criminal Investigation Unit. He confessed to raping and killing her.
The head of the Criminal Investigations Unit, Antonio López, has said that Navedo saw Sara jogging, opened his truck and when she jogged by he forced her into his open trunk.
About an hour later she was found with her throat cut in a field partially clothed. The FBI found Marquez by picking up a signal from Sara's cell phone. She had been able to describe the car to the marina employee.
Marquez didn't confess immediately. He told police that the blood all over him was from his brother's horse. It seems there was no reason for this killing. He didn't steal anything from Sara.
In addition to the killing of Sara there was a murder of an anti drug official in Cancun this week. No one has come forward and confessed. General Mauro Enrique Tello Quiñonez, his aide and a driver were all killed after being kidnapped and tortured. Their bodies were found on the side of the road. In 2006 another military anti-drug leader was killed in Cancun. That case is unsolved.

Post a CommentI would guess you are right on all counts but how stupid. Rape may not conjure the time murder does.
That is a tragedy, however the man killed her in an attempt to cover up the rape, that should have been obvious to authorities. Also the anti-drug official's case remaining unsolved is suspicious to me. It just feels like that there is heck of a lot more to that story than what is being divulged...
