Let's start off with the Elvis Tribute Tour that last about 3 to 4 hours. This is one you can plan for the morning time. It is packed full with everything you would ever want to know about Elvis. There is a fully narrated tour through his home and the grounds it is located on. You will get a look at the burial grounds and his many cars that he had acquired before his death. I have to say that the grounds are so beautiful and peaceful here. You will literally feel like you stepped back in time with the decor and shag carpets throughout the house. This is a good tour if you have a big Elvis fan with you.
A favorite for many musicians is the Gibson Guitar Factory tour. The tour last about an hour and they have a lounge area that you can have lunch at after your tour. You get to tour and watch the guitars being made and see where some of the most famous musicians get their guitars from.
If you want a variety in your tour of Memphis, try the Ride the Ducks Tour of Memphis. The tour last about an hour and takes you to the Victorian Village, National Civil Rights Museum, St. Jude Hospital, AutoZone Park, Sun Studio, and a lot more. After a land tour you can enjoy a ride on the Wolf River Harbor.
If a cruise on the river sounds like fun try taking the Memphis Sightseeing Riverboat Cruise. You can learn about the history of the river and all of the Civil War significance Memphis has. It has beautiful sights of the Pyramid and Mud Island Park. Cruises are available in the afternoon or the evening and is well worth the ride.
Memphis City Tour will keep you busy and excited for 3 hours of your morning. You will see sights like Elvis's Graceland, AutoZone Park, the Famous Sun Studio, Danny Thomas's St Jude Children's Hospital, Loraine Hotel where Martin Luther King was shot, and a tour of Beale Street. This tour will make you feel like a part of Memphis history.
Memphis Mojo Tour is fun when you step on to "Miss Clawdy", a vintage bus from the 1950s, to tour Memphis. You will tour Beale Street and stop for a tour at Sun Studios. Participation can be fun when the bongos and tamborines come out for the beat of the tour. My friend took this tour and had a lot of fun.
Hound Dog Tour is a tour to take if you are an Elvis Fanatic. They will take you to the High School that he attended as well as the apartment building he spent his teen years. The tour will take you to places he began his singing publicly.
These tours will show you the soul and heart that the city of Memphis has. It has so much history in music that seeps from eery corner to learn about. If you are coming to Memphis or just want to learn more about your hometown, take one of these tours and sit back and soak it up.
