wrapping up the day
in moonlight and clever lyrics
hands over my eyes
peeking out to see
what the world has to say

words are beads tumbling off a wire
hitting the floor in fractal chaos

what does this look like
reading the mind scars like braille-
it isn't as dark as it seems

hot tea and my hands are warm

he said his telepathy was broken
it's not often that he's wrong
no one else could ever understand

across the freeway
i can wait for this.
