Town Hall Screamers Have a Purpose

What is the Real Agenda of the Town Hall Screamers?

David Lindberg
Town Hall Screamers (THS's) are people who are not concerned with health care in any way. They have one thought and that is fear, fear of loss of control. The proof is that most of them have no particular question that can be answered. What we have seen is them shouting, "I don't want to be Russia", "I want America to be the way it used to be". (When was that?) Their mission is one of fear and hatred. They still can't stand that Obama was elected and there is nothing that could possibly please them except control, control over who is benefited by ANY program. Their goal is to disrupt and prevent meaningful debates because that would require listening, something that they will never do. They have been enraged since the Presidential election and they have finally been given a platform in front of the biased new media, knowing that if they cause a disturbance, they will surely be nationally heard. That is why they don't ask pertinent questions that would guarantee an answer back. Even if it was an answer they didn't like, they would get an answer. Random shouts of "We don't trust you or Obama" can't be answered. Therefore, they shouldn't be given this much attention. If someone doesn't put their issue in the form of a question, they need to be told to sit down and allow someone else to ask their valid question. They are taking valuable time away from others at the town hall meetings who the news media isn't interested in showing us. Are the news cameras showing the other people in attendance, expressing frustration over not being able to ask their questions? No. The THS's want control back, to times in our country that most of us know, must never come back!

Also remember that what we see and read in the media is not necessarily the complete picture. It comes to us through filters to present what is wanted to be perceived! These town hall screamers are a minority of the population. Poll figures are to be taken with a grain of salt, even during elections, let alone where there is no election. Politicians really only pay true attention to polls during campaigns. The rest of the time, they vote on laws based on their knowledge or if they are dishonest, they vote based on lobbyist bribes. So in the end, health care will be reformed based on political power of the President vs insurance and pharmaceutical industry lobbyists. Our true power comes on election day, when we can vote for the best candidate, which is what we, thank goodness, did in the last Presidential election.

You're so right. What we see in the media isn't the complete story. Excellent article, David. :-)
