Upon entering we were escorted to our table and the atmosphere was really quite cheap looking. They had fake vines with lights attached at the top of the restaurant. They used a basket with paper towels to serve us the bread which I felt was quite tacky. Their cleanliness was horrible when my daughter noticed that the vinyl table cloths that covered the table were just caked on with food from where the two tables had been put together to form a bigger table for larger families and they did not routinely pull them apart to clean in between the tables.
Upon ordering their prices were quite high for a small town restaurant. They charged for soda by the glass which most places including fast food do not charge full price for a refill of drink. So we of course drank sparingly to ensure we did not spend too much on soft drinks. Next came the bread. It was some sort of roll with some sort of black stuff on it not exactly sure what but it was very cold and not good at all. Next came the salad which came with our meal. We were sent to the salad bar which was a roll cart consisting of maybe 10 different items to put on your salad.
The food was terrible. I ordered a simple spaghetti with their house sauce and it came looking appeasing but once you tasted you realized it was anything but. It was cold and the noodles were sticky. The sauce was cold and was not at all good. There was nothing I could do to make this dish taste better.
The wait staff is non-existant since they really have nothing to do for you since you can't get a refill without agreeing to pay full price for a refill. They charge you a fee according to their menu if you choose to share a meal with a relative. So this restaurant is definitely not kid friendly.
Finally the cost was outrageous. My husband paid almost $70.00 for four meals (1 of which was a child's meal) and yet got a lot less in quality and quantity then when we visited more established restaurants in bigger cities with all six of us eating. It is definitely not worth the money they are charging.
Needless to say we were quite disappointed at the prices, the service and the atmosphere. We would not ever eat there again when passing through Maggie Valley.

Post a CommentGotta stick with the original reviewer, the food was NASTY (ie. packaged tasting) and cold!! One dinner was actually still frozen in the middle. The ambiance stunk, the quality stunk, the prices vs. quality stunk. Charge for refills on soda?? Ridiculous when you figure how much you pay for a drink vs. what tiny bit they pay for the small shot of syrup and bubbly water. We had high hopes when it changed from Arf's to Towne House. No such luck!! The fact that it is in Maggie Valley has no bearing on what the quality should be, according to the reviewer know as "qtpie".
s a critic. By the way...the mess you left was horrible and your attire . girl no wonder you insult others!! Get a life BIG girl.
Were you dieting??? No wonder you are a food critic!! Fat girls are never happy!!

My family loved it!! We will eat hear again! AND yes it was CLEAN!!!!! Furthermore, I don't know where you are used to eating but, $70.00 for, four people and drinks that's cheep! No wonder you think it's acceptable to "share" food when dinning out!!!
