Townsend/Great Smokies KOA located at 8533 Tennessee Highway 73, Townsend, Tennessee, is a mere quarter of a mile from the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. RVers will find RV sites that are full hookup, meaning they have connections for water, sewer and electricity. Each RV site also has a picnic table, a campfire ring, cable television, wifi and a paved patio and they "range from semi-sunny to heavily wooded and secluded."
Pets are welcome at Townsend/Great Smokies KOA, which can be an important piece of information for those RVers who take their pets with them. Dogs that accompany their owner and their RV to Townsend/Great Smokies KOA must be well-behaved and not be one of the aggressive breeds. These dogs must also be on a leash that is not longer than six feet in length whenever they are outside their camping unit and if they are tied up they must not be left unattended. Also, the pet owner should always pick up after their dog.
