Toxic People
Unless they are spreading fear
They are miserable souls who wear their daily strife
As a badge of honor that they hold dear
Do not let their warped vision
Make you anxious or afraid
Make a conscious choice; make a firm decision
To put their misery out of your mind and, from you heart, let it fade
Toxic people will always exist
They come in all shapes and sizes
Be on the lookout and be prepared to resist
For they wear many faces and disguises.
When we let toxic people into our life
Their presence can take a hefty toll
Their words are sharp and cut like a knife
They can destroy your faith and steal your soul.
Your only defense against this foe
Is in the hope that lies ahead
A positive outlook will help you grow
And eliminate toxic thinking instead
