Toy Review: Fisher-Price Ox and Jed Train Cars - Geo Trax

Whenever my son would go to the babysitter's house, I always have trouble pulling him away from the GeoTrax trains. I finally went to the store and purchased him the Fisher-Price Ox and Jed train cars. I didn't want to spend a lot of money and it only cost me $9.99. I thought it was a pretty good price for what it came with. It comes with the lead train car, and two attached train cargo train cars. It also comes with a man figure that my son can change his positions and sit him in the train cars. He absolutely loves this toy.

What I like is that it is compatible with the other Geo Trax train set that grandma and grandpa bought him for Christmas. The train cars are so easy to put together. My two-year old son is able to connect t hem and disconnect them. They attach with a hook and pole, so simple. They even fir on the Geo Trax train tracks that we already had. I know that I want to purchase more Geo Trax sets for him, but for now, he seems pretty content with the Ox and Jed set.

The lead train car has buttons to push. When you push the buttons, the car will light up and make sounds effects. I like this little extra feature on the trains. My son doesn't seem like he gets bored with them after a few minutes of playing with the trains. We have the Thomas trains and he seems to get bored after a few minutes because he doesn't know what to do with them. The Thomas trains connect with magnets easily pull apart when moving the trains. This is not the case with the Geo trains. My son can move them all around, and the connectors don't come apart.

The set also comes with a yellow cargo box. I am not sure if it is a stack of hay but it fits into the cargo train cars. One of the cargo cars comes with sides that come down. It is a really fun toy for my son. He can use his imagination for a lot longer with this toy. He likes to play with it on his activity table. We don't have a full train set yet, but I think we will buy more of this type. The Geo Trax seems to be kid friendly and the price was adult friendly.

The quality of the trains seems to be holding up well. My son has thrown them and dropped them on my kitchen tile floor, and nothing has happened to them. The pieces haven't broken off, the paint hasn't chipped, the connectors haven't snapped. Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with a simple train car toy. I highly recommend the Geo Trax trains, you can't go wrong.
