Toy Review: Octopus Fun Float by Intex

The Octopus Fun Float Toy by Intex is one of those pool toys that younger children will have a lot of fun with. I'm not sure why it is recommended for children up to 9 years old though as the older range in that group will be bored with the Octopus Fun Float Toy by Intex. I have found from seeing this large floating Octopus toy in use in the pool that really the upper age range for the Octopus Fun Float Toy by Intex should be about six years old. There are two uses for the Octopus Fun Float Toy by Intex that will entertain children. These uses are the five hoops made by the Octopus' tentacles to float in, and the smaller tentacles which are folded up at a 90 degree angle for a ring toss game.

The Octopus Fun Float Toy by Intex is almost three feet wide, which means you will need a large pool to play with this inflatable pool toy in. Keep in mind most public pools will not allow a toy this size to be brought in, so you will need to use it at a privately owned pool at someone's home. As mentioned above there are five circular floats created around the outside of the octopus body. These are rather sturdy but I can't seel five children in the floats at once. When my son played with the Octopus Fun Float Toy by Intex it seemed it worked best with three children in the circular floats, leaving an empty one between each child. This will also work with two children, but it becomes lopsided with just one child and starts to sink slightly with four or five children.

If your children don't want to use it as a float toy, then they can play the ring toss game. There are six hoops included in the game. This is a fun game to pass time in the pool. One warning I have with the ring toss game is that they will bounce off the inflatable octopus a good distance so make sure the kids that are in the pool pay attention or they could get hit by a bouncing ring.

A couple other things to keep in mind when using the Octopus Fun Float Toy by Intex is that this should be used in low depth pools. I highly recommend not using it with young children in water depths that they can not touch the bottom of. The recommended age from the manufacturer is 6 months to 9 years. As I said before, anyone above six years old will be incredibly bored with the Octopus Fun Float Toy by Intex. Any of the younger children that can not touch the bottom of the pool and keep their head above water should be accompanied or watched closely by an adult.
