Toy Tent Balloon Thoughts

What do you think about when you're in a tent full of cartoon balloons? In my case, I saw a few generations.

Superman and Tweety are the only characters older than me at age 50-som'n. I used to root for Sylvester, the "bad ol' putty cat," in his efforts to catch Tweety Bird. I remember our family of three laughing one time when Sylvester greeted Tweety with "Hello breakfast!" before another bungled hunting attempt. Batman, the TV show-starring Adam West as Batman & Burt Ward as Robin-was a favorite of mine briefly in the 1st grade. Hmmm, neither Sylvester nor Robin has balloon images; some current commercial says Americans don't like second place. I vaguely remember Spiderman.

Upper elementary/middle school was my epoch for watching Scooby and his human friends solve mysteries--ten right before a Saturday morning six-man football game (offensive lineman/defensive lineman) or soccer (fullback or halfback) at Town North YMCA in Far North Dallas. I know nothing about modern cartoons, such as Sponge Bob, Dora the Explorer, and Diego. Nevertheless, I'm glad there's a Dora star and bat balloon with the caption, "Once upon a time/Habia una ves.

Not all balloons depict TV cartoon characters-such as dragons (my favorite), ponies, butterflies, and a big yellow fish that has three air holes for blowing them up,

Cartoon balloons range from $3--$5 for small, medium, and large/hammer shaped. Then we have those small inflatable balls with modern cartoons attached to a small paddle by a rubber band. It was the only toy of its kind that I've played with during that time last Spring. We hang these balloons all around the tent and put them in boxes too. But the best place for seeing a cartoon balloon is in the hands of a smiling young child.

The 3rd to the last sentence in the last paragraph should read as follows, "It was the only toy of its kind that I’ve played with during the fair, opting generally for fuzzy toy yo-yos and water guns during the day then flashing, spinning, and sometimes-noisy toys at night.
