Toyota American???

O.K., first of all I must admit I live in "The Heart Land" my home is in a beautiful neighborhood nestled right between two cornfields.

People fly American Flags in there front yards, and to pass the neighboring farmer riding his John Deere is common place.

So maybe I have a place in my heart for the good ol' American small town -you know the town you picture when a John Cougar Mellencamp song comes on the radio.

But I was wondering If anyone else thinks it is strange that "Toyota" is sponsoring the video countdowns on a national Country music video channel.

To me it just didn't seem right- kinda like "Phillip Morris" sponsoring a quit smoking commercial.

You are sure they don't really believe in what they are "selling" they are just trying to appease the courts or in the the case of "Toyota" trying to make people feel like "Toyota" is American- because whats more American than a country music video - you know The farmer on the John Deere plowing the land and going home after a long day in the field to a home baked apple pie.

Just remember the good old story about a wolf in sheep's clothing. Being nestled between videos about our great country doesn't make you any more American than standing next to the Statue of Liberty getting your picture taken.
