Toyota Recalls Lexus Models Due to Fuel Leak
Some Lexus Modes May Have a Fuel Leak that Requires Repair
People may recall the recent problems Toyota and other car manufacturers have had. For some the current recall by Toyota is a surprise, as consumers may have thought Toyota would have uncovered all issues previously.
This recall by Toyota is due to a sensor that serves to measure fuel pressure. Improperly installed in some Lexus cars, this can loosen. If it does loosen there is a possibility of a fuel leak.
Information included in a Christian Science Monitor article lists the following Toyota Lexus models are being part of the recall:
Lexus GS 300/350-2006 and 2007 models
Lexus IS250-2006 to the early 2009 models
Lexus IS350-2006 to the early 2008 models
Owners of any Lexus that is part of the recall will receive details by mail concerning their Toyota. At this time Toyota is in the process of acquiring parts needed to correct the current problem.
Drivers with one of the recalled Lexus automobiles may notice the smell of gasoline in their vehicles. Other than this odor there are no warnings that the Lexus being driven has this fuel leak that has become a recall issue.
While the repair of the recalled Lexus automobiles will not be labor intensive, the recall will be an inconvenience for those having to do without their vehicles. It is estimated that the inspection and repair could take several hours.
