The Top Children's and Teenage Tech Toys and Other Games

The economy may be down and retailers are expecting lower then ever sales, but that won't stop children from asking Santa for the top gifts for the holidays. Here is what the International Council of Shopping Centers is naming some of the tops gifts for the 2009 season. Most of these items can be found at your local Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, or Amazon.com.

Zhu Zhu Pets. These robotic toy hamsters have names like Numnums and Pipsqueak and also have accessories to accompany the "pets" sold separately. The goal is to buy enough balls, tunnels, and wheels to make a "Hamster City" The hamsters are relatively cheap being sold at $8-$10 dollars, while the accessories can cost anywhere from $10-$20.

Scene It? Twilight deluxe edition. $30, ages 13+. Capitalizing on the Twilight frenzy, this addition to the Scene It franchise includes trivia and scenes solely from the 1st series in the Twilight Saga, right around the time the second film, New Moon, is released.

7 in 1 Maxus Drago Bakugan. $40, ages 5-15. The toys based on a popular anime TV series Bakugan: Battle Series is the latest addition to the collectible figures. The Bakugan and the Bakugan trap unite to form "The Ultimate Monster".

Crayola Crayon Town. $15-$20, ages 3+. Nothing new or fancy here, just a childhood staple. These pop up structures, props, and characters can be colored directly onto and come in various "theme" communities such as the zoo, construction site, and airport.

Disney Netpal. $350 and for ages 6-12. This is the perfect netbook to introduce your child to technology. The 8.9 inch netbook comes in pink and blue and runs on Windows XP with an Intel 1.6 GHz.

Nanover Nanoscape. $50 and ages 7-12 years old. This is a handheld digital gaming device based on a popular online battle game. The devices can connect up to four handheld for head on head combat or your can play solo. Solo battle cartridges cost approximately $8.00.

Star Wars Battle of Endor. The gifts here are endless there is a video game, Lego set, action figures, star wars is back in full effect this season.
