Toys for Tots Decides to Accept Donation of Jesus Dolls

Heather Lynn
Toys for Tots has announced that it will accept the donation of Jesus dolls from One2Believe, the manufacturer of a line of talking religious dolls. "The Talking Jesus doll issue has been resolved. Toys for Tots has found appropriate places for these items. We have notified the donor of our willingness to handle this transaction," the organization announced on its website.

Toys for Tots had declined the donation of 4,000 Jesus dolls for their annual Christmas toy drive earlier this week. Bill Grein, vice president of the organization, cited that they were concerned "about offending a Jewish or Muslim family if they received a doll." They have since found an avenue for distributing the Jesus dolls.

One2Believe, a unit of the Beverly Hills Teddy Bear Co., sells 5 talking biblical figures in its "Messengers of Faith" line of educational dolls.

Wow I was really taken back at the previous article on this issue. You know, really it doesn't surprise me though. I am glad they decided to keep the dolls. Frakly, if they celebrate CHRISTmas, then they should accept the fact that they may recieve a Biblically based toy. I know my daughter wants one :).
