Trace Adkins Bus Involved in Fatal Crash

Truck Swerves into One of Trace Adkins Tour Buses

Wendy Dawn
TMZ reports that a crash this morning involving Trace Adkins's tour bus and a pickup truck resulted in at least two fatalities. The accident took place in Louisiana, in Caddo Parish, in route to a concert venue in Bossier City.

The truck careened out of its lane and crashed into one of Adkins's tour buses. Sadly, the driver and a passenger in the truck were killed on impact. KSLA reports that a 21 year-old Arkansas man, Justin Maxey of Fouke, Arkansas was driving. His passenger was 36 year-old Jeffery Ferguson Jr. of Texarakana, Arkansas. It is believed that the men had recently left a casino.

Witnesses told Caddo Parish authorities that the truck was driving erratically prior to the accident.

Photos of the crash with Adkins's tour bus show a truck that is completely crumpled. There is no way the men could have survived the crash. The truck was totaled.

Trace Adkins was not on board the bus, but some of his band members were. Fortunately, none of the band members were seriously injured. According to reports the band members were taken to a local hospital. They were treated for minor injuries and released.

Trace Adkin's Sine All Night concert with Martina McBride in Bossier City, LA was to continue as scheduled. It takes a great deal of strength to pull yourself together once you have been involved in a fatal accident. Following through with the concert following this accident demonstrates a tremendous level of professionalism and heart for Trace Adkins' fans.

While the bus accident was by no means the fault of Adkins' bus driver, the situation is likely to weigh heavily upon Adkins, a country singer known for his compassionate, big heart.

Trace Adkins won 2009 American Country Music Award for Single of the Year for Your Gonna Miss This. Adkin's latest single is All I Ask for Anymore.
