Country music lovers grab the family and your lawn chairs and head to Ft. Sill on July 3, 2007 for the 2007 Army Concert Tour. This year's featured artist is Trace Adkins, with special guests Joe Nichols and Thomas Martinez. Following the concert fireworks will light up the skies over the Lawton- Ft. Sill community. (NOTE: The concert, originally slated to be held at the Ft. Sill Polo Field, is now being held at the Hardstand west of Ft. Sill Federal Credit Union on Ft. Sill, because of the recent flooding.)

Trace Adkins, recently voted the number two sexiest man in country by "Country Weekly" readers, is promoting his latest CD "Dangerous Man". It's a collection of songs that showcases Trace's ability to keep his audience tapping their toes and singing along to his hits, one of the most recent being "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk." Other Adkins hits include "Swing", "Ladies Love Country Boys", and "The Stubborn One."

Joe Nichols released his first album in 2002. He won a CMA Horizon Award in 2003 and has since garnered three Grammy nominations. His latest single is "Another Side of You", from his album "Joe III." Nichols is from Rogers, Arkansas and inherited his love of country music from his father, grandfather, and uncles, who were semi-professional guitarists. Other chart toppers from Nichols are "Impossible", "If Nobody Believed In You", and "Brokenheartsville."

A Cleveland, OK native is also on the bill. Thomas Martinez and his band, "The Wild Frontier" will also play Tuesday evening. His first CD, "Promises", was released in 2006 and has sold more than 10,000 copies so far. His music is a fusion of rock, metal, and country, and he admits to having been influenced by groups like Judas Priest, and Megadeth. A Metallica song even gets played during his stage shows.

Advance tickets for the show are $25 and tickets at the gate are $30. Tickets are available at Fort Sill Adventure Travel, Impact Zone Brewery, Twin Oaks Bowling, and Crutcher's For The West in Lawton and Duncan. For more information on tickets call 580-250-4040. The gates open at 6 pm and the show starts at 7 pm. A fireworks show follows the concert at around 10:30 pm.

Please note that no cameras, recording devices, coolers, or weapons are allowed. Entrance onto a military installation is necessary to get to the concert, so all adults in the vehicle will need proper identification and your vehicle will be subject to search.
