Trace Adkins and Kristin Chenoweth to Host 2011 American Country Awards

American Country Awards has announced that Trace Adkins and Kristin Chenoweth will serve as hosts the 2011 American Country Music Awards that will be held on December 5, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Adkins, a country music superstar, hosted the show last year solo and was a bit nervous. This year he will have a little help from award winning actress and new country music artist, Kristin Chenoweth.

Adkins is known for his deep sultry voice. He has numerous hit songs and albums to his credit and has also been a guest star on various television shows in the past. Most recently, Adkins made visits to the "Today" show and "Fox and Friends" to promote his new album "Proud to be Here" which contains his current hit single, "Just Fishin'."

Kristin Chenoweth, an accomplished actress on both television and Broadway, has won both an Emmy and Tony award. Chenoweth earned an Emmy award for her role as Olive Snook on "Pushing Daisies."

If you are wondering why an actress and not someone in the country music field was chosen as the co-host for the 2011 American Country Awards, the word is that Chenoweth has decided to try her luck as a country music artist. Chenoweth's first album is set to be released in September 2011 and will feature the first single released from the album, "I Want Somebody" and "Some Lessons Learned," which will also be released in September.

The American Country Awards is a fan-voted award show that allows fans to choose all the winners in traditional categories, as well as a few un-traditional ones such as "Best Tour."

The American Country Awards will be announcing the performers, presenters, and the nominees for the 2011 award show in the next couple of weeks. Expect the lineup of performers to be just as spectacular as last year's show which included performances by Blake Shelton, Reba McEntire, Rascal Flatts, and Josh Turner.

Last year's big winner at the American Country Awards was Carrie Underwood, who won a total of 6 awards, including "Artist of the Year." Award winners receive a custom made Fender guitar instead of a traditional trophy at the American Country Awards. That's pretty cool!

The 2011 American Country Awards will be broadcast live from Las Vegas on the Fox television network at 7:00 Central Standard Time. Be sure to tune in to catch all the live performances and of course, see who the big winners are for 2011.
