Tracey Ranauro was kind enough to donate her massage therapy services (one human massage and one animal massage) as a raffle prize for a Gulf Coast Cocker Spaniel Rescue fundraiser and I was fortunate to win the prize. Actually both my dog, Euri, and I were lucky because we had an opportunity to have our massages on the same day (one after the other).
Tracey Ranauro's spa studio is located in Old Town Sugar Land and is just gorgeous. It is spacious and comfortable, and best of all, the building has a fenced-in backyard so doggies can go for a potty break. We were promptly greeted with a warm smile and Euri, who is sometimes cautious with new people, loved Tracey so much that he actually gave her kisses - something that is usually reserved for his mommy and daddy - so I knew we were in good hands. After all, dogs are great judges of character.
While I filled out the paperwork, Tracey gave Euri a mini dog massage as a way to get to know him and have him feel more comfortable. Euri loved it. Then it was my turn for a massage and Tracey gave me a 30 minute massage that worked all of my problem areas (e.g. my shoulders and neck). I particularly loved the massage table as it was heated and very comfortable. Some massage therapists use a pressure that is either too hard or too weak but Tracey's was just perfect. Euri was probably a bit confused as he had never attended a massage session with his cocker mom before but he kept busy with some doggy treats (although I did hear him walk around the room sniffing everything).
When my massage was over, Tracey poured cucumber water for me and allowed me time to rest and get dressed. Euri was happy that I was off the massage table because that meant it was his turn. Once I was dressed, Tracey returned to the room where she proceeded to discuss the techniques of animal massage. She gave me handouts and explained things slowly and thoroughly.
Then it was time for Euri's doggy massage. Euri clearly loved Tracey and enjoyed his doggy massage. Tracey provided plenty of water for Euri (before, during and after) which both he and I appreciated; and similar to humans, dogs should drink water after their massage.
Tracey Ranauro is very easy to talk to, friendly, experienced, and knowledgeable and I would highly recommend her services to anyone - humans and animals. Whether you're looking for a bikini wax, a facial or a massage, Tracey Ranauro is the one to call for personalized service.
P.S. Tracey Ranauro is also a photographer. Yes, she does it all. Click here to view some of Tracey's photos.
