So how do these popped potato chips taste? Delicious, just like regular potato chips only light, airy and very flavorful! They are truly a treat for the tongue because they are crunchier than regular chips without being greasy, and they are not overly dry, either.
They truly taste like a barbecue potato chip, but the texture is much nicer. Puffy, like a rice cake, which seems to enhance the flavor a little.
About 19 of these chips make up a 120-calorie serving with 4 grams of total fat. I bought a 3.25oz bag of these barbecue popped potato chips for less than $3 at Trader Joe's, but I wish they'd come packaged in smaller individual 1 oz. bags for easy packaging in lunches, and especially for portion control sense they are still addictive like regular chips are! I really like the crunch of these chips, but I also like to occasionally rest one on my tongue to let it sort of dissolve and soften so I can absorb the flavor more gradually! Yum! These are a definite 'must try' from Trader Joe's!
