Traditional Vegetarian Pasta (Chokalya) Recipe

Ingredients:


Rice flour - 3 cups

Onion (Chopped) - 2

Tomato - 1

Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp

Cloves - 2

Cinnamon - 2

Bay leaf - 1

Green leaves - 1 bunch

Chili powder - 2 tsp

Turmeric powder - ½ tsp

Tamarind juice - 4 tsp

Coconut paste - 2tsp

Salt - as required

Water - 6 cups

Preparation:


1) Prepare rice flour dough by adding water and salt and then make small balls and press with two fingers and keep aside to let it dry.

2) In a large vessel add oil and fry bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon.

3) Then fry onion, ginger garlic paste, tomato till brown then add turmeric powder, chili powder, green leaves, salt and water. Let it boil for 10 minutes.

4) Then add the rice balls and stir it gently.

5) Then add coconut paste and tamarind juice and cook for 5 minutes.

6) At last add garnish with coriander leaves and serve it hot.
