Traditional Vs. Contemporary Wedding Transportation
Interesting Ways to Get Where You Are Going on Your Big Day
One of the smaller, but certainly very important, details of planning your wedding is deciding on transportation. Whether you are having a lavish fete with hundreds of guests or just a small and intimate affair, you are going to have to figure out how to get you and your guests to your wedding in style. The question is what kind of vehicle is appropriate for the kind of wedding my partner and I are planning?
Traditionally, white stretch limousines have become the vehicle of choice for a bride, groom and their guest. One limo can usually seat many people and they are usually easy to find for rent. These chauffeured limos create a very classy way to get to where you are going from the hair salon to the bridal shop and the ceremony and reception location. However, a limo is so traditional that it doesn't give a bride and groom a unique way to enter and exit on their big day.
However, more contemporary ways of getting around on your big day are becoming more and more popular. Wedding parties can consist of nearly 25 people, and sometimes a limousine just won't work for very large parties. In this case, some bride's and grooms opt to rent stretch Hummer or Expedition limousines. Party buses are also ideal for this type of occasion, and can provide a fun and spacious way to transport everyone and everything.
If a party bus or giant Hummer is not exactly what you are looking for, consider instead a classical car for your traditional wedding. This is a great way to arrive to your wedding in style, or as a getaway car for the bride and groom after the reception. There may be a number of classical styles to choose from, but look for a white classical car for the best effect. Another great way to keep your wedding transportation classical without being too traditional and ordinary is to arrive by horse drawn carriage or even by sleigh if it is snowing. A carriage ride in between the ceremony and the reception can be a very romantic and intimate way for a bride and groom to celebrate their first moments together as husband and wife.
For a more contemporary bride and groom, perhaps renting an expensive sports car to make a dramatic exit or entrance is more their speed. While a shiny new red convertible may sound awesome, remember that your entire look will be blown in the wind, so if you do opt for a convertible, make it your getaway car. That way, it doesn't matter if your hair or makeup gets ruined.
Whatever you decide, make sure that your transportation matches the traditional or contemporary style of your wedding. Limousines are always a safe route to go for a traditional or contemporary wedding, but there are many other options out there to choose from to help make your wedding day special. Just remember to pick a vehicle that best mirrors the theme of your wedding for the most dramatic effect.
