Traffic Jam

Mandy Kaye

There's the bell.
GO!
I am running
Late
Two lanes, please.
Divide it like a roadway
stay to the right side.
And keep on moving!
Cluster of people clogging the pathway
Like they have nowhere to go.
Traffic Jam.
People changing lanes without signaling
I think this kid's brake light must be out
I nearly ran right over him
Bump.
"I'm sorry."
But I'm going to be late
if you don't
get out of my way.

The doorways are the worst.
Like a crazed onramp
I can't believe how careless people are.
And unaware of their surroundings
it seems.
Beep Beep
This highway
Spangled with car accidents
and the curious passerby
guarantee that I will never make it on time.
Better hurry
I'm going to be late
for class.

More like work than class, but driving in these kinds of conditions always bring out the psycho road rager in me. Judging from the state of your car, well I won't got there.
