We long to accelerate and find the open lane
Weaving in and out of traffic; seeking the best path
Escaping the emotional tie ups that snarl our brain
It only takes one creative thought
To release the crowding that occupies our mind
One new idea; one incredible "a-ha!" moment
Inspires us to leave the pack behind
We exhale with relief at the open road
Potential promise we can see up ahead
Places to explore; we know a new sense of freedom
We are no longer victims trapped in feelings of dread
The mental traffic jams will come and go
But an open mind shows us we can be free
We can leave behind those who choose to linger in fear
And our heart will lead us toward our own destiny

Post a CommentI never made the connection between brain clog and a traffic jam. But it makes perfect sense to me now!
Great comparisons between traffic and our minds.
Head for the open road!
Well-written.
So true.
Very inspiring... thanks!
There are times in life when we all need to slow down, pull over and ask for directions, mentally. Well done Donna!
we all need that time at the side of the road for a breath at times! :)
Very uplifting!
Sometimes, I have to pull into the slow lane or even just stop on the shoulder for a few minutes!
