Park Slope residents may have seen promoters wearing Roadify t-shirts or head about it lately. The company is promoting a new public transit and parking social service that can be used on your cell phone.

Much like FourSquare, Roadify is a location based service where users can share and receive information on available parking spots, subway and bus locations.

According to the Park Slope Civic Council, the service is free and users can receive this information via text messages. You just have to text the word "ROAD" to 95495 and the system will send you an update.

The service is also available through a free iphone app and by calling 347-960-6362, according to Roadify. A how-to guide on how to use the service can be found here.
