Instead of going to the museum, let the museum come to you. That is one option that the African American Museum in Philadelphia (AAMP is offering as part of one of its services for teachers.

WHO

The African American Museum in Philadelphia (AAMP) has teamed up with Comcast and the School District of Philadelphia in providing a unique learning experience for students in the School District of Philadelphia. Additionally, Interpret Green provides the interactive multimedia dimension of this program.

WHAT

The first ever integration of Digital Interactive Educational Media as part of a traveling educational program

FOCUS

► Suited for 8th grade students

► Enhances the Social Studies Curriculum by making history come alive via hands-on multi-sensory tools.

TRUNK COMPONENTS

► 32 inch video screen with touch screen technology

► An on-screen video host/narrator

► Historical themes of American History

► Special emphasis on Philadelphia's history and on-screen testimonials

► Reproductions of artifacts, copies of primary documents, letters, publications

► Illustrations and maps

► Student handouts, teacher guides, evaluation forms
